I love Twitter and all the social tool’s but more so I love the PHONE! (or skype) I like talking to people I love getting into deep or amusing conversations! That being said I forgot how powerful words can be… this is the first email that I got after I launched #SAFF:
Whattup Fatty!
Hey, man…check out Body for Life! Seriously. It’s a REALLY commonsense approach to exercise and eating. It’s based around what YOU’RE capable of. I lost almost 60lbs on it. I’ve run several marathons in the last few years now. And yeah…I TOTALLY get the motivation thing. I just get pissed at myself for being an idiot on the verge of being unhealthy and use that to refocus.
You want to get BRUTALLY ugly with yourself? Take a picture in a pair of shorts and nothing else. Take a pic from the front, the back, the profiles and post it up EVERYWHERE. Then find a picture of somebody who’s in the shape YOU want to be in and cut out a picture of YOUR head and tape it to that body (I’ll photoshop you somethin’ for shits’n giggles). Put that next to your Fatty McFatterson self and you’ll kinda find some motivation in that. I know I friggin’ did. I videotaped a LOT of the process of me workin’ out (I don’t have an analog to digital converter right now) and that help to watch the progression.
A lot of people will think you’re crazy..ESPECIALLY your lazy-ass friends. But one thing that you’re not going to expect is that by you sticking to what you’re setting out to do, you ARE going to inspire other people. When that happens, you’ll never stop moving ahead and getting shit done because you’ll suddenly feel that YOU are THEIR reason for getting their own shit together. Remember I said that.
Shit…just by posting that heart-rending video about what you’re setting out to do? People are gonna lift you up.If there’s ANYTHING I can do, whether it’s call you a fat-ass, text something randomly throughout the day like ‘Get your damn fool hands off that Twinkie m’n'f’r!’….let me know. And if you ever feel up for tryin’ a half-marathon or a run? Call me! And don’t say you can’t do it or make up excuses. I did that for YEARS and then I crossed a finish line, got a medal and my friends began signing up for physical activities like marathons, etc,. Now they keep ME going and inspire me.
Sorry this is so long. You just seem like a really cool guy from all your appearances on Brushwood’s show and your humility and honesty really struck a chord. And if I can help I’d love to.
Take care, man.
Tony (aka Tijuana Taxi)
